The Milazzo Film Festival 2024 Attorstudio is coming: the program and the dates

The Milazzo Film Festival 2024 Attorstudio is coming back, and the program for the next edition is full of new features.

The Milazzo Film Festival 2024 Attorstudio is returning. Its program promises to be very interesting and full of new features: from the dates to the location chosen for the event. In this regard, the event will begin on February 29 and run until March 3, at the Trifiletti Theater in Milazzo. This year, the new artistic direction will be entrusted to two great authoritative personalities: Caterina Taricano and Mario Sesti. The call for entries is already available on the website filmfreeway.com, which intends to organize a series of events and awards, focusing on all the media-attention talents. The first chosen personality is the talented Fabrizio Bentivoglio, actor in theater, television, and cinema.

Milazzo Film Festival 2024 and the Excellence Acting Award: the award

The artist will be the protagonist of various encounters with students and teachers from schools. In addition to the constant presence of the public, during which the actor will receive a prestigious recognition: the Excellence Acting Award. However, the Milazzo Film Festival will have a high-profile artistic direction: Mario Sesti and Caterina Taricano, who have shown great enthusiasm for the event:
“We want to dedicate the entire event to the art, the craft, the dream of the actor, first and foremost by rewarding excellence and discoveries in acting, giving face and voice not so much to the protagonists of a set but to the people behind those roles, subjects of a precise and often difficult journey, but one that has led them to that focal point of attention and love that ignites in the spectators when they recognize that authenticity and uniqueness that makes a character unmistakable and sometimes irreplaceable. The culture of cinema is rich in studies, tributes, and extensive critical literature on authors. But it is not the same for those whom we first meet with our eyes on a screen, or on a stage: the actors.”

The program

The program of the Milazzo Film Festival Attorstudio 2024 has not been defined yet, but undoubtedly, it will be four very important days during which four awards will be given to an actor or actress, in collaboration with important media partners. The awards will be: The Excellence Acting Award: will be awarded to an actress/actor whose work in cinema, theater, and TV has significant importance and value. In fact, in the upcoming edition, it will be awarded to Fabrizio Bentivoglio. The Acting Award: will be awarded to an actress/actor who in recent seasons has confirmed through their work in cinema, theater, and TV a rich family of characters and at the same time a recognizable personality in terms of technique and expressiveness. A Star Is Born: will be awarded to an actress/actor who in recent seasons has stood out in cinema, theater, or television offering performances loved by the public and critics. The storytelling voice: will be awarded to podcasters and authors who have lent their voice and intelligence to complex, effective, and narrative-driven stories. For all the awarded actors, from November to January, various classes from the high schools in Milazzo, along with their teachers, will have the opportunity to study the entire filmography of the invited and awarded guests, coordinating with the artistic directors Mario Sesti and Caterina Taricano. During the three days of the festival, they will be involved in meetings with various artists, participating in public encounters held at the Trifiletti theater. The training for schools

The well-known event also includes high-level training moments involving both teachers and students. The professional content, methodological reflections, biographical narratives, text analysis, and meetings with other actors will represent a significant educational and technical moment. In other words, through the idea of exchanging with the public, meeting, and homage, these appointments should both spread a basic set of information about the actor’s craft, different from what tradition or reality TV shows might present, and aim to untangle those key aspects of the job by treating and exploring them competently and specialized, as interesting as they are spectacular. But there will also be screenings of unpublished Italian films for the territory that have qualities, innovation, and contemporary storytelling traits.

The sponsorship of the municipality and the words of the mayor

The Milazzo Film Festival, as every year, has received the sponsorship of the Municipality of Milazzo. In this regard, the mayor, Midili, expressed all his enthusiasm:
“Destagionalizing the event – says Mayor Midili – seems like a great idea and I am particularly happy that the event has been included in the winter program of the Trifiletti theater. It is nice to have important events throughout the year and not concentrate them all in the summer. I am sure that this tenth edition will have a wonderful program.” Also, read the article: The Milazzo Film Festival is back: from July 20 to 23

The words of Mario Sesti and Caterina Taricano

“After working for many years in festivals – say Mario Sesti and Caterina Taricano – we gladly accepted the invitation to take care of the artistic direction of the Milazzo Film Festival, sharing with the organization these three goals: to bring to life and grow an event with its gravitational center in the love for actors, to create a solid attitude between young spectators and Italian cinema in the territory, and to contribute to creating a national and international-level event in Sicily.”
